After 2 other successful lines Tommy Hilfiger and Gigi Hadid collaborate once more for the third time. This year they showed their collection in London’s Fashion Week on the 19th of September.
Simone Rocha, in her fashion show on London’s Fashion Week 2017, proves that age is just a number.
We already saw, on Day 1, that white color is going to be a big trend for the next spring and summer. Day 2 confirmed that, as many designers showed us in their collection at least one white creation like Whistles, Emilia Wickstead and Holly Fulton. Julien Macdonald’s designs stole my heart with their geometric patterns and Marchesa’s ones for their floral character. Orla Kiely showed the most beautiful and girly collection which I wish I could see live. But style is a matter of personal taste, so let’s see what was presented that day.
Amanda Wakeley Spring Summer 2015
London Fashion Week started on September 12th and we were all excepting it impatiently because this is the first European Fashion Week of this season. It was a good start but I hope that the upcoming days will keep the same standards. Most of the outfits were dark colored like those of Jean Pierre Braganza and Daks. The first one’s are special for their originality while always keeping a strict style, while the second one’s for being lighter. However, some light colorful patterns were not absent, as we saw on Felder Felder’s and Paul Costelloe’s. In my opinion, that day’s peak was Amanda Wakeley’s series in romantic white hues. Take a look at what was presented on the first day.
We might be a bit late to this “announcement” (we blame it all on Fashion Week Month which took most of our time), but now that the dust has settled and all the news and photos are out, we can finally write our own article about it. Victoria Beckham, after being a fashion designer for 6 years now, finally opened up her own store a couple of weeks ago at 36 Dover Street, London W1. The store is 6,000sq ft and an architectural masterpiece of minimalism.
The famous lingerie brand, Victoria’s Secret, has recently announced their collaboration, with famous Greek designer, Mary Katrantzou. It’s the second time the brand will be collaborating with a luxury fashion brand, after last year’s capsule collection with Olivier Rousteing of Balmain. May Katrantzou is known for her colorful and unique prints, and she’s been a favorite designer of London Fashion Week. The Victoria’s Secret x Mary Katrantzou capsule collection will be presented on the runway next month, at Victoria’s Secret annual Fashion Show in New York City. After their debut during the show, the items of the collection will be available to shop, online and in stores for the holiday season. Mary Katrantzou stated about this collaboration: “Everything that Victoria’s Secret creates is about a woman feeling confident and empowered—and also having fun with what she is wearing, This collaboration is going to be bold, fun and playful”. We can’t wait to see more!
London Fashion Week is already over, and I can’t say I was impressed by most presentations. I think that LFW is my least favorite of all. I did find some favorites though, and here’s what I noticed about the whole LFW and what I liked about these particular collections. Most collections were way over-the-top, with too much layering, prints, and presentations that, in my opinion, took away from the designs. The ones I liked, were more minimal, and used beautiful colors (some of the times pastels too), mesh or lace. My hands down favorites were David Koma, Eudon Choi, Jasper Conran, and Xiao Li. You can see all the shows here. Let us know which one was your favorite designer for this season.
Ella Catliff a.k.a La Petite Anglaise created her London based blog back in 2010 and the audience of her site has grown through the years. Now she is a international well-known fashion and lifestyle blogger. She frequently collaborates with high end brands like Chanel, Dior, Mulberry, Bulgari and H&M. She always covers London Fashion Week and for the past two years she’s also been covering the NYFW. Her style is always chic, sometimes girly and playful. I would love to see her with longer hair too, but she looks gorgeous no matter her hairstyle!
As I have told you before I find the streetstyle fashion outside the shows way more interesting that the actual shows! A week ago I picked my favorite NYFW streetstyles and I have to say that the outfits there were a little more interesting than the LFW ones! Despite this fact I found some fashion statement looks to show you and inspire you!
Milan Fashion Week is slowly coming to an end, but before we cover that one, it’s London Fashion Week’s turn. Many designers showed their new collections on London Fashion Week, but only few managed to impress us. Among them, my personal favorites: Daks, Felder Felder, Issa, Peter Pilotto, Temperley London, and last but not least Topshop Unique. Their collections really managed to catch my attention, because of their clean lines and interesting designs! The rest of the collections featured many prints and materials which made them look non-wearable, but LFW is known for its alternative vibes and extravagant designer pieces. Which one was your favorite collection?
