Women’s Day | Gift Guide
Internation Women’s Day is on March 8th, but in the UK they also celebrate Mother’s Day in March, on the 11th, so I thought I should combine those two holidays, in one gift guide. The reasons for that are simple. We post a lot about women’s fashion here on Stylishly Beautiful. There are a lot of articles dedicated to younger women, who love fashion and styling, so we really wanted to emphasize on mothers this time. Sure there are younger and older moms, but we did our best to cover it as best as we could in only one guide. You don’t have to shop something expensive for your mother or the woman of you life. The most important thing, is to give her something symbolic, to celebrate the day with her. So we chose some inexpensive and also practical options, because mom’s do love practical. Here we go then. Since it’s still winter outside, you can go with a nice wool scarf, a pair of leather gloves with faux fur lining, or even a faux fur jacket, that will keep your girl warm. Speaking of warm and cozy, pyjamas may sound boring, but they sure are practical, and a perfect gift for our loved ones. Why don’t you also add a nice candle into the mix as well? We just love the holiday season, and we couldn’t wait to share with your our favorite Christmas sweaters for this year. It’s kind of a tradition here at Stylishly Beautiful. Look of the day | Casual Thursday
What do you usually wear on casual Thursday? We thought, to create a casual look for you, for a change. For us, casual Thursday means a loose pair of jeans, a nice jumper, and a pair of sneakers. But because we are fashion lovers, we would add some more fashionable notes, such as a holographic backpack, and a pair of aviator sunglasses in pink, to match the jumper and the sneakers. The jumper is from the brand Pretty Little Thing, and it’s the cutest one we’ve seen in a while. Running shoes are a huge trend for the past few years, so why not wear them in your more everyday looks. And a nice pair of loose jeans, that would still compliment your figure, is going to help you feel comfortable all day long. Pick a jacket or a parka (in blue or pink maybe) to fight the cold, and you can even add a knit scarf and a pair of gloves to finish off your look. What do you think? Sock boots | Shopping guide
As we mentioned on last week’s look of the day, sock boots are having a comeback from the early 00s. So take out your old sock boots from your attic or closets or let’s go shopping together for a new pair, because this trend is huge. You don’t have to follow all trends of course! Just keep the ones that fit your style and personal taste, and ignore the others. For those of you who do love this trend however, we have gathered some really good and (mostly) inexpensive choices for some online shopping. Have your credit cards ready ladies, ’cause you’re going to need them! If you have thin legs and calves, and especially thin ankles, a) you’re super lucky and we’re jealous and b) you have to try out the ankle boot version of these. They’re gonna make your legs look even longer and your look very sexy. If however you don’t have these characteristics don’t frown (we don’t have them either), the longer boot version of the sock boot is going to look better on you! It has a really nice sleek and slimming effect and it will transform your looks.
Of course it’s needless to say that we don’t mean that if you’re not skinny you can’t wear the shorter version of the sock boots. Feel free to do so if you wish, that’s your prerogative; but these kinds of boots can also make your legs look wider. The trick for all kinds of booties, if you want to appear slimmer, is to wear a length that cuts just below the ankle; because that’s the slimmest part of your leg. Otherwise it will make your silhouette appear wider and shorter, and we don’t want that. That is the only reason we’re suggesting the longer sock boots.
