Asos stops selling silk, cashmere, mohair or feather productsASOS has pledged to stop selling silk, cashmere, mohair or feather products, by early 2019. The UK retailer, followed the steps of other global retailers, such as Forever 21, Topshop and H&M, who have stopped using mohair for their products, and it took it a step even further. They promised that they’ll stop using and selling all of those materials by January 2019. Of course that move has been warmly welcomed by PETA. “PETA applauds ASOS for leading the charge for compassion in fashion,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman, according to their press release, a couple of days ago. “In response to PETA’s campaigns, consumers are changing the face of the industry by demanding that designers and retailers ditch animal-derived materials in favor of cruelty-free alternatives that look great without causing suffering.” According to PETA, each year, the mohair, cashmere, down, and silk industries exploit countless goats, geese, ducks, and silkworms, causing these sentient beings unnecessary pain and suffering. These are good news for the fashion industry, and we hope that more retailers will follow ASOS lead.

Bella Hadid teams up with designer Alexander Wang for a new campaign from Magnum. The famous ice cream brand brought the supermodel and the exceptional fashion designer together for the “Take Pleasure Seriously” shoot. Bella poses in a stunning dress by Alexander Wang for the studio shots. Moreover, she will star in a short film enjoying the famous desert. If you thought eating an ice cream couldn’t possibly be sexy, allow Bella Hadid to prove you wrong with the following photos.

The campaign will be officially aired at the Cannes International Film Festival on May 10th.

Selena Gomez x Puma En Pointe Collection 1

Selena Gomez stars in her second campaign for the well-known sportswear brand Puma. The famous singer showed confidence from the first moment about the new campaign. The brand teamed up with some of the most popular dancers from the New York City Ballet for the Spring 2018 En Pointe collection. They collaborated closely in creating a line of modern and comfortable sportswear. The new collection presents linear elements, wide strapping, and woven details pulled from ballet technique.

Even though the collection presents a wide range of separates including mesh leggings, cropped sweatshirts, light-weight bras, the focus in the campaign is set on the sneakers. Puma’s Phenom sneaker is now getting an upgrade with a chic new satin fabric. There is a second version, the “Phenom Satin Low EP Training Shoe”, that comes in a soft peach color as well as black version. Puma also unveiled the “Fierce Rope Satin EP”, a cool lightweight style available in the same shades. It reminds of a ballerina’s shoe, thanks to the cute satin laces.

The En Pointe collection is available both in stores and online at puma.com. It’s quite affordable, so you can recreate Selena’s looks with pieces that cost between $35 and $130.

Victoria’s Secret x Balmain Collection 1

Victoria’s Secret collaborated for a first time with a luxury fashion house like Balmain on a runway and retail collection. Olivier Rousteing designed an impressive and limited-edition capsule for the lingerie brand. They came up with the punk theme, which is something really new for the designer.  Luckily, he created a glamorous collection with recognisable elements, heavy embellishments and a lot of studs, mesh, plaids, safety pins. The most expensive piece is the bejeweled Swarovski Long Line Bra that costs $248. Furthermore, there is a matching pair of panties, also decorated with Swarovski crystals that are available for $48. Balmain x Victoria’s Secret capsule will be available both online and in-stores. The film follows the young actress as she walks on the streets on her way to a night out, dressed in a red slipdress and glitter Jimmy Choo ankle boots. Lorin Askill – famous Australian filmmaker- shot it in New York city. The shoot accompanies the brand’s latest festive cruise 2018 range. Cara appears in stunning outfits based in 1970’s style. The key pieces are embellished strappy sandals, metallic pumps, mesh ankle boots and fur-trimmed brogues.

“This season isn’t about one look, it’s about the many ways a woman might dress up for a night on the city but always with a playful allure. The shoot and film both perfectly capture the sense of anticipation and infectious energy that a night out can bring. It’s important for us to show the fun side of the brand, ” said the creative director Sandra Choi.

Vetements x Tommy Hilfiger Collaboration Cor a New Unisex Collection

Ladies and gentlemen you heard right. Tommy Hilfiger announced collaborative collection with Vetements! The two sides made the news official after Hilfiger posted a first look at the collaborative collection on his personal Instagram page, after Vetements teased a potential collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger after debuting its 2018 spring/summer collection last week. The collection is expected to launch sometime in fall, and will feature a unisex assortment of hoodies, tees, beanies and socks. Hilfiger also mentioned that the collection will not be inexpensive and that he and his brand are open to more collaborations in the future.
