Versace has a big surprise for those who attended their Spring 2018 show in Milan Fashion Week a few days ago. The show ended with an epic supermodel re-union, featuring the creme de la creme of supermodels, the girls whom the term was even invented for: Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Carla Bruni, and Helena Christensen, who were all wearing golden chain-mail dresses. The supermodels walked down the runway with Donatella Versace, and closed the show together, with George Michael’s “Freedom! ’90” playing in the background. The whole show was a tribute to Donatella’s brother, Gianni Versace, marking the 20th anniversary of his death. There were looks inspired by some of Gianni’s most iconic creations that included butterfly prints, the Medusa heads, the studded leather, the safety pins, and many more. It definitely was one of the most interesting shows to watch!
The newest Gucci Cruise 2018 is called The Roman Rhapsody, and it features portraits of real people (non-models) in apartments and and neighborhood parks throughout Rome. That’s where the campaign takes its name from. It features people that are not models in real life, such as a Gucci Rome shop assistant, the owner of one of Rome’s best-known Chinese restaurants, an advertising executive, Italian actress Miriam Leone, and an Italian singer-songwriter. The collection is shot by the iconic British photographer Mick Rock. See the whole campaign here.
