The French fashion house Givenchy revealed its spring/summer 2015 campaign, starring Julia Roberts and in one word, it’s stunning! The campaign was photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, a well known duo in the fashion world. The styling was pretty simple and minimal with a little make up on Julia, who was wearing an oversized blazer and a sheer top. Riccardo Tisci said that they wanted the campaign to be powerful and I totally think they succeeded!
The gorgeous blonde actress Kate Bosworth is now a shoe designer too! After multiple collaborations with Topshop it was about time and we are more than happy with the result! Matisse footwear will launch her 20-pair capsule collection (including boots, mules and sandals) in March 2015 and it will retail between 300$ to 500$. The collection will be available in Nordstrom and other selected retailers.
Logomania is back with total strength! It was a sign of style and good taste in the 90s, when you could wear brands and their visible logos from head to toe… after some time, it was restricted to sunglasses and some bags. The new century considered wearing some logos kitsch and tasteless. Now Louis Vuitton (who never stopped displaying the famous LV logo on their goods), for example, launched a collection – as part of the 160th brand anniversary – called “Celebrating Monogram” (or the Icon and the Iconoclasts), with designers such as Christian Louboutin, Karl Lagerfeld and Rei Kawakubo, among many others, showing their take on Louis Vuitton goods. Lagerfeld, for instance, created boxing gloves and even a punching bag using LV logo. Louboutin designed a shopping trolley and Rei Kawakubo, the Comme des Garçons designer, the bag shown below.
Solange Knowles (Beyonce’s sister) cooperated with PUMA again by redesigning and giving a lot of colour to the classic PUMA suede and the XT2 model. The three-piece collection’s name is ”Wild Wonder” and you can shop it online at Opening Ceremony and find it at selected retailers around the world. There will also be a follow up to this collection featuring two more designs, available on December 13th.
I’m sure by now you already know how much I adore Victoria Beckham, so it doesn’t come as a surprise to read another article about her. This time she was the big winner of the Brand of Year award at the British Fashion Awards 2014 that took place in London on December 1st, so I think she is definitely worth a post for her accomplishment. She was accompanied by the love of her life, her husband David Beckham, and she received her award wearing one of her designs, a black & white maxi skirt with a chain, and a black sweater with an open back. It’s not the best outfit we’ve seen her wearing, but she’s Victoria Beckham; she can wear whatever she wants! She became really emotional when giving a speech when receiving her award, thanking her crew, her supportive husband, and her parents who have always been there for her. Greek clothing brand’s, Badoo, collection for fall/winter 2014-2015, has a wide range of colors and patterns for this season. Playful plaids, and colors that bring to mind hues of the winter sky, feminine animal prints, charming florals and shades of rust and icy grey. The limelight however, steals the timeless tweed that gets combined with eco-leather, giving a vintage touch to this season’s collection. The also timeless nude gets paired with beautiful lace on knitted fabrics, and the deep red color of the wine, is making us dream of all the things we want from this winter.

Eastpak, the well known luggage brand, announced the names behind its 2014 Artist Studio Collection, which aims to raise money for Designer’s Against Aids (DAA). Many big fashion names are invited to design one-of-a-kind backpacks close to their styles, to be bid for, online. Christopher Shannon, Jean Paul Gaultier, MSGM and Manolo Blahnik are some of the names that have signed up to the project, which starts on World Aids Day, on December 1st. Each of their creations will be auctioned online for 20 days, and all profits with be donated to the charity organization.
