Doutzen Kroes loses her Victoria’s Secret wings
After six years as an angel for Victoria’s Secret, model Doutzen Kroes is leaving the position, ready for new opportunities. She is another one to lose her wings, which was commented since February, following the departure of Karlie Kloss, already shown on Stylishly Beautiful. She said, during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Berlin, that “Victoria’s Secret gave me a lot, but I had to move on and do different things”.
The chief marketing officer, Ed Razek, said “Doutzen has a lucrative offer in Europe and it would clash with her contract for Victoria’s Secret. There was no conflict. I wanted to be fair to someone I adore and respect and released her from the contract”.
Kroes has formed lasting relationships during her career as an angel and model, in general. With over a decade of modelling, she calls “extended family” some of the most well-known names in the industry – Mario Testino, Inez and Vinoodh, Steven Meisel and Patrick Demarchelie and, of course, the Victoria’s Secret Angels.
