Amsterdam Light Festival
If your are planning to visit Amsterdam on December or January then you can go to the Amsterdam Light Festival. Artists, designers and architects from all over the world make artworks especially for the festival. This year is the 5th edition of this annual festival. Personally I’ve been only in two of them, this year and last year. There are 2 routes that you can follow, one by foot and one by boat. The walking route started on the 15th of December and will end on the 8th of January. It’s free and you can visit it from 17:00 until 22:00 and it’s 2,3km in length if you follow the designated route. You can reach it by metro (stop at Waterloopplein), some trams or by foot. The boat route started on the 1st of December and will end on the 22th of January. It’s a boat trip in the canals of Amsterdam and lasts 75 minutes. You can take a boat from the central station or from the canal in the beginning of Vondelpark near Leidseplein. It costs about 18-25 euros for an adult and it’s from 17:00 until 23:00. If you never did a boat trip in Amsterdam I highly recommend to do one during the light festival. The photos are taken by me and these are my favourite artworks of this year.
