Madame Carven has passed away at 105
Madame Carven, the legendary French designer, has died on Monday in Paris, aged 105. She was a contemporary of Christian Dior, Pierre Balmain and Givenchy.
She was born Carmen de Tommaso and launched her label in 1945. She was one of the first to launch ready-to-wear clothes (pret-a-porter) and also created popular fragrances, such as Ma Griffe. The designer was known by a youthful approach to silhouettes, with clean lines and simple, wearable clothes.
We pay our homage to a creative and inspiring life!
