Customized sneakers from your sofa? Yes!
It’s very common to have customized items with fabrics or embellishments such as silk flowers, rhinestones, etc. But from a sofa? It’s so interesting! How does it work?
The whole concept was developed by Vittel, the famous bottled water brand. Then we may ask ourselves, what does a water brand have to do with customized sneakers? Well, a lot. The idea is that instead of sitting on the sofa watching TV or playing videogames for long periods of time, people lead a healthier life, with their customized sneakers, being outdoors more often.
For the Couch Converter program a person should submit a picture of his/her sofa and then send the cut-up sofa fabric to the company, after the application’s approval. The result is a pair of customized sneakers after 8 weeks. But it was only opened for some countries, such as France, Switzerland and Germany, and the 50 first submissions were evaluated. Anyway, if it comes back – the company may well open the program again – would you dare cutting your sofa for that? I must say I can’t see myself doing that! But as a concept is was cool, in my opinion!
Watch Vittel’s video to get the whole idea! It’s a really nice video!
